Baby Trend Xcel R8 Stroller Review

If you’re in the market for a new stroller but don’t want to break the bank, Baby Trend has some great options. This brand is known for making inexpensive but durable strollers that offer lots of features parents love. The Xcel R8 stroller is one of their best. It has all the basics – a spacious storage basket, sun canopy and reclining seat. It’s also compatible with Baby Trend infant car seats so you can use it as a travel system from day one. It’s also one of the lighter joggers we tested, which makes it easier to manage and lift into your vehicle.

If you plan to jog, you’ll be pleased to know that this stroller has a front swivel wheel that locks straight for running and large rear bicycle-style tires for a smooth ride. The handlebar is curved and made of soft rubber, which feels comfortable in your hands when pushing. It’s also easy to maneuver and turn, even on rough terrain. This stroller has a higher weight capacity than most other joggers, at 50 lbs. This is still plenty of room for most kids, but it’s not recommended for toddlers who can weigh more than that.

The Xcel R8’s reclining seat has a five-point safety harness and tether strap for a secure fit, as well as dual footrest reflectors for better visibility in low light. The deluxe parent tray includes two cup holders and covered storage, while the swing-away child’s tray has room for drinks and snacks. The stroller’s oversized storage basket can hold your shopping bags and other gear, while the extra-wide ergonomically shaped rubber handle is soft for pushing and cushy when folding.

Baby Trend is also a leading innovator when it comes to creating stroller accessories, like the Snap-N-Go and Sit N’ Stand strollers, which transform an infant car seat into a lightweight stroller frame. The company is behind the Diaper Champ, an easy-to-clean diaper pail that holds up to 13 gallons and keeps odors at bay.

The Xcel R8 folds with the pull of a trigger, which is a nice feature for busy parents. It’s also easy to clean and assemble. The only downside is that the Xcel R8 doesn’t have an adjustable handlebar for different heights, which can be a problem for taller parents. However, it’s still an excellent option for a budget-friendly jogger with good quality test results and a lot of parental approval.
